Note to self: Make time for you. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Its too easy to skip exercise when life gets hectic. I totally get it. I have a full time job, two little kids, hubby, friendships to maintain and it is ALOT of work and planning just to keep up with everything.
If you don't prioritise a gentle movement routine to unwind and decompress, the stressful events in life and the endless to do list just builds and builds until you just can't function anymore and feel exhausted all the time. You won't feel joy and everything becomes hard to cope with. Resilience goes out the window. .
I find that doing some home yoga or pilates routines are so great if you just don't have time/energy/money to go to a studio or take a professional class. When I'm really time-poor, I like to play a quick YouTube video with guided stretches or play some relaxing music and just go with the flow.
I sleep sooo much better and my mood is so much brighter the next day. Its like a weight is lifted and the body, mind and hormones all reset. .
I just can't say this enough....Regular, mindful movement is part of a healthy lifestyle and it doesn't take much to do. So are you doing it? If not, can you start - like right now?
All you need is to grab your most comfortable activewear, a mat (grippy socks optional) and your favourite water bottle (hydrate!) - and you are good to go.
No excuses. You matter. You come first. xx Tammy
